The American Red Cross has appointed Klaudia Cwiekala-Lewis BSN, MSN, RN as the volunteer Regional Nurse Leader (RNL) for the Central Pennsylvania Region, which covers 22 counties in Central Pennsylvania from the New York to Maryland borders.
As the area leader for Red Cross nursing, she will support our local Red Cross chapters, providing clinical guidance and helping to build health professional capacity. Cwiekala-Lewis will work to develop and sustain health partnerships across all lines of Red Cross service and will seek to ensure that all areas of the region have enough volunteer nurses and other health professionals to support the entire network.
Cwiekala-Lewis, a resident of Manchester (York County), earned her MSN in Nursing Leadership and Health System Management from Drexel University. She earned her BSN from Cedar Crest College. Cwiekala-Lewis has been a Red Cross volunteer since 2003, and has served as a Disaster Action Team member, a Pillowcase Project presenter, a CPR Instructor, and a Client Services Disaster Health Associate.
“In my new role, I am planning to visit area colleges and universities to discuss the various volunteer opportunities available at the Red Cross,” noted Cwiekala-Lewis. “My hope is to increase the number of nursing volunteers across the Central Pennsylvania Region by 25%.”
