Red Cross Seeking Martin Luther King Day project Volunteers

Harrisburg, PA (January 9, 2015) The American Red Cross is looking to recruit volunteers to assist with fire prevention canvassing on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19th 2015 in Dauphin, Lancaster and Cumberland Counties. This is a national day of service and we are hoping to bring community and Red Cross volunteers together to canvass with fire safety information. In spite of the cold weather, we really hope that you can join us in this community initiative!

We are looking to have roughly 20-40 volunteers per targeted canvassing area. We greatly appreciate all the help and support that you can offer to those in our communities on this day. Prior to going out in the targeted locations, all volunteers will meet with their lead contact at 8am for a morning briefing. There will be coffee and donuts provided. Once the morning briefing/orientation has been completed all volunteers will proceed to their designated neighborhoods. For each county that will be participating in this event, their respective team leaders will be sending out follow up emails with specific county instructions leading up to January 19th. Please pass along the information for this event to all of your friends and family and encourage them to come out and support our community!

We anticipate that the canvassing event will last until approximately 12 Noon. We greatly appreciate all of your support and desire to help in the community. Please fill free to contact Mashi Bethea at mashi.bethea@redcross,org or call her at 717-257-1882 ext. 1242 for more information or to sign up.
